How it works

    Agents authorise through their Agent Services Account, and individuals sign in with their HMRC account.

  2. Step 2

    Add your records

    Upload bank statements, receipts or spreadsheets. You don't need bookkeeping software.

  3. Step 3

    Send your updates

    Review and send each quarterly update and your final declaration, and we'll keep track of the deadlines.

Who needs to use MTD, and when

MTD for Income Tax applies to sole traders and landlords registered for Self Assessment, based on their qualifying income.

Is AATAX recognised by HMRC?

Yes. AATAX is recognised by HMRC as MTD ready, with reference D6Q7XM.

Can my accountant use AATAX for me?

Yes. Once you authorise your accountant with HMRC, they can send your quarterly updates and final declaration for you. You reply to their reminders with your bank statements and receipts.
